Ella Billmayer, Turner Track

The Turner girls track team isn’t known for racking up District 9C medals. But that’s exactly what sophomore Ella Billmayer did at last Wednesday’s 9C district meet in Havre. Billmayer swept the distance races, winning the 1,600 meters in 6:07.50 and the 3,200 in 13:06.50. Billmayer, who is also a basketball standout for the Tornadoes, placed second in the 800 and sixth in the long jump and will compete in all those events at this week’s Northern C divisional Thursday in Great Falls.

Ned Malone/Brian Smith, Havre Tennis

Havre High senior tennis players Ned Malone and Brian Smith are no strangers to tennis success. But this past weekend in Bozeman, they achieved success together. The duo won three straight set matches to claim the Central A doubles title, and while both players have had accolades in sports like football, basketball and hockey, they joined a special group in tennis, becoming the 13th HHS duo in the last 15 seasons to win the Central A doubles title.
