Jerry Lee Borst, 59, passed away at his Havre residence, May 15, 2014. Jerry has been cremated and services will be held at a later date. The family has suggested that memorials in Jerry's name can be made to the Autism Research Institute, 4182 Adams Ave., San Diego, CA 92116 or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Jerry was born Oct. 5, 1954, in Havre, to James and Lillian (Kaul) Borst. Jerry was raised in Havre, where he attended grade school and high school. In 1973 he enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1979. In 1974 he married Linda Vollum, and the couple had two children, LeeAnn and Jeremy. After being discharged from the Navy, Jerry began working for the railroad until he was injured.
Jerry enjoyed watching SyFy TV, collecting The Beatles' memorabilia, and watching the Cubs and the 49'ers. Jerry was just an old hippie at heart.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lillian Borst; his son, Jeremy Borst; and his brothers, Dave and James Borst.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, LeeAnn (Jeremy) Malley of Havre; his sister, Patty (Gary) Stansberry of Columbia Falls, Montana; his brothers, Irvin (Ruby) Borst of Havre, Jess Borst of Columbia Falls, Montana, and Dick Borst of Yuma, Arizona; three grandchildren; and his life-long friend Allen Newbauer of Havre.

How heart wrenching that this family has to endure two tragedies in such a short period of time; first Jeremy and now Jerry :(
