Delores "Dolly" Lorraine (Armstrong) Farley began her life born in Havre, Montana on Feb. 13, 1935. Her family included parents Donald and Elin Armstrong, brothers Dave and Donald "Bill", and sister Lillian.
Her children, Debbie, Bill and Perry were all born in Havre. Delores was a devoted mother and provider to her children, working diligently to care for them. To everyone's delight, into their lives came James M. Farley, who decided to trade in beloved bachelor branded red and white convertible for an instant family. "Dad's" construction jobs kept the new family moving about Montana from Whitefish to Forsyth to Missoula. In addition to tending to her children, Delores enjoyed the friendships she kept while working in retail.
As her children grew and spread their wings, Delores filled her time with volunteer and civic activities that brought her more friendships and great satisfaction of giving back to her neighbors. Her fondest memories were of her time spent at the Missoula Senior Center. She was proud to raise money for their campaigns (the highest ever by any volunteer), orchestrating trips for members, organizing raffles, brewing up stew dinners and working her magic with silent auctions. She was known to be the first to roll up her sleeves for the good of any project.
She had a magic ability to make the kinds of friendships that we all long for; timeless ones that are dependable and full of joy. To this day they have continued to call to check in on her; she will be dearly missed by many. Most of all she will be missed by her great-grandson Oliver, his mama Jennifer, and his grandma Debbie. The four of them were a family unit that will continue to support each other in her honor by working as hard as she did and loving with all their hearts.
Delores joins Dad (Jim) in heaven. She is survived by her children: Debbie and spouse Doug, granddaughter Jennifer, great-grandson Oliver, age 8, Bill and spouse Althea, and granddaughters Miranda and Marisa, and son Perry.
With special thanks to Florence Hagen for mom's care.
A memorial reception and viewing was held at Garden City Funeral Home Saturday, May 17, starting at 1 p.m. Burial will take place in Havre, Montana at a later date.

In memory of Delores, pay a smile, roll up your sleeves and help your neighbor, or do anything to pay it forward, even make a new friend. She'd like that.
