Elections set in Hi-Line schools

Along with Havre’s school board elections, the surrounding areas also must make decisions on how their districts will work in upcoming years.

Each district will conduct voting Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m.

Big Sandy

Voters will be able to decide if an elementary mill levy for $16,695 will be accepted.

The vote for trustees was canceled due to lack of competition.

Voters may submit their ballots at the high school.

Box Elder

The Box Elder School District has three positions available: two three-year positions and a one-year position.

For the two three-year positions, Marquieta Jilot, Connie Morsette, Neal Rosette Sr. and Shane Sangrey will be on the ballot.

For the one-year position, Charles Louis Pleninger and Tim Rosette Jr. are running.

Voters may turn in their ballots at the Box Elder School.

Chinook

The Chinook School District will not be voting in new members of their school board due to acclamation.

However, there will still be a vote for two mill levies.

A building reserve levy for $40,000 a year for five years and a technology levy for $16,000 a year for 10 years will be voted on.

Voters can submit their ballots at Chinook High School.

Chester/J-I

Chester-Joplin-Inverness Public School District has two three-year terms available and three people are running for them

Incumbent Kurt Kammerzell, Brad Kammerzell and Chandra LaFrentz are running for the positions.

Voters will be able to submit their ballots via mail-in ballots.

Harlem

There will be an election for trustees for the Harlem School District. Two three-year terms are available, and four people are running for them

Donald “Duck” Horn, Michele Lewis, Donald L. Long Knife and Johnathan “Chunker” Walker are running for the two positions.

Voters can submit their ballots at Harlem High School or the Fort Belknap Complex Red Whip.

Hays-Lodge Pole

The Hays-Lodge Pole School District is holding an election for three positions on their trustee board: one three-year, one two-year and one one-year position.

Cory Morgan and Melissa Shambo are running for the three-year position.

John Hawley, Frank J. Doney and incumbent Wesley Main are running for the two-year seat.

Gail Main and Ken Morin are running for the one-year position.

Voters will be able to submit their ballots at the Hays School Library.

North Star Schools

The North Star School District does not have any positions available on its board and no proposed mill levies. There will be no vote.

Rocky Boy Schools

Rocky Boy School District has two three-year positions open on its board of trustees and 18 people are running for it.

The names of those running are: Matthew Denny Sr., Billie Jo Coffee, Jody A. Lamere, Teddy Russette III, Elaine Coffee, Roger De Cora, Steve Parker, Joseph “Big Joe” Lafromboise, incumbent Russell Standing Rock, Terrie Stump, Van Four Souls, incumbent Martin Parker, Mary DeBerry, Darlene Parker, Laurie A. Sun Child, Harriet Standing Rock, Wade Colliflower and Delilah Murphy.

Voters will be able to submit their ballots at the Rocky Boy Elementary Gym.
