There’s no rest right now for the Havre High boys and girls track teams.
Following a successful trip to the Gallatin Valley Invitational Saturday, the Blue Ponies are right back on the track today at the Malta Athletic Club Invitational. The event is a twilight meet which will get started at 3.
Havre is coming off a strong individual showing in Belgrade, against perhaps the best competition the Blue Ponies have seen so far this season. But now the Ponies begin a grueling stretch of meets. After today’s meet in Malta, the Ponies travel to Whitefish Saturday, then come back east for the Top 10 Meet in Glasgow next Tuesday. And next Saturday, HHS is back at home for a dual with Lewistown and Malta.
As for today’s meet, Havre should be a heavy favorite on both the boys and girls side. The Ponies will likely be the only Class A squad in attendance, and will be up against area Class B schools like host Malta, Glasgow and Wolf Point. Plenty of local Class C schools will be in the Malta field today, including the North Star Knights and Chinook Sugarbeeters.
Today’s Malta Athletic Club Invitational starts at 3. The Blue Ponies are back on the road when they attend the prestigious A.R.M. Invitational Saturday in Whitefish.
