Havre's Ohm headed to Miles City

Make that three Havre High girls basketball players who will be joining collegiate programs next fall.

Miles Community College head women’s basketball coach Liz Lewis has announced the signing of Blue Pony senior Haley Ohm to play for the Pioneers starting next fall.

Ohm is the daughter of Lon and Shelly Ohm and currently attends Havre High School where she has participated in cross country, track and basketball. In the fall of 2013, she helped lead her team to a divisional title in cross country and for three straight seasons, the Blue Ponies have been crowned divisional champions in basketball. Her 2014 team captured the Class A crown, defeating Hamilton, 52-43.

When Ohm isn't on the hardwood, she has participated in several school clubs and has been the recipient of an academic All-State accolade, as well a certificate of academic excellence. She has been involved in the high school chemistry club, Key Club, student congress and served as the vice president of Pep Club.

In her senior season, she was named All-State cross country. In basketball, she was named honorable mention All-Conference, as well as the Blue Pony New Comer of the Year her junior season.

In 18 games this past season, Ohm shot 51 percent from the field and 44 percent from the charity stripe. She averaged 4.4 points per game, grabbing 3.7 rebounds and finished the season with 17 steals for head coach Dustin Kraske.

Ohm joins teammates Brandy Lambourne and Peyton Filius as college basketball signees. Filius and Lambourne are headed to play for Montana State University-Northern next fall, where Lewis used to be an assistant coach under Chris Mouat.
