The H. Earl Clack Museum Board is looking at ways to make up possible budget shortfalls, including talking to its funding foundation next week, or possibly looking at ways to save including reducing hours for the next budget year that starts in July.
Board member Val Hickman told the other board members at tonight’s monthly meeting that the board has been using cash in addition to what it has been receiving in appropriations from the county. That cash apparently is used up, she said.
Hickman said after the meeting that the money provided to the annual budget is $19,000, but the budget has been running about $27,000. If money cannot be found to make up the difference, the budget will be cut, with most of the budget going to wages for employees.
The board agreed to meet with the H. Earl and Margaret Turner Clack Memorial Museum Foundation next Monday before the foundation board’s meeting to show it the options the museum board is considering and to see what help the foundation can provide.
