John R. Paugh, 95, of Havre, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes. Cremation has taken place, and at his request, no services will be held. Interment will be at a later date. The family has requested that memorials be made in John's name to the Northern Montana Care Center, 24 13th St., Havre, MT 59501, or the charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
John was born on Oct. 29, 1918, in Almena, Kan., to Edmund and Elizabeth (Bartels) Paugh. He was raised in Almena, attending school there. John relocated to Havre in 1943, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944, receiving an honorable discharge two years later. He returned to Havre and worked as a barber for 20 years, and completed his working career by retiring from Northern Montana College after working as a custodian for 25 years. John traveled after retirement until he entered the Care Center in December 2012.
John was preceded in death by several beloved relatives, and he leaves behind his family who loved him very much.

When Sharon and I lived north of Havre Johnny was the best neighbor a person could have. When someone needed help Johnny was the first to be there. He will be greatly missed, rest in peace my friend. Mark and Sharon Keeley
