School board gives final OK to elections

The Havre Public School Board of Trustees met Tuesday to take a vote on elections for the school board and to recognize outstanding students.

There are five people who are running for the three positions open on the board of trustees.

The names of those running are: Ericka Everly, Timothy Scheele, Bobbi Teasley and incumbents Curtis Smeby and Cindy Erickson.

Anyone who pays taxes to the school will be able to place their vote May 6 at Havre High School. There will be no mill levy vote this year.

The school board voted to give the Key Club, the girls basketball team and the all-state basketball team members outstanding achievement awards.

“I can’t think of a better group of people to receive this,” Superintendent Andy Carlson said after the Key Club members received their awards for their volunteer work with United Way. “There’s a lot of good things represented by this group.”

The board approved a request from Davey School to have a bus stop within the Havre district. The bus stop will be at Patterson Park.
