Five people will be running for three seats on the Havre school board in the May 6 elections.
The names of those running for the three open seats are: Ericka Everly, Timothy Scheele, Bobbi Teasley and incumbents Curtis Smeby and Cindy Erickson.
Darlene Bricker, the present board chair, will not seek re-election, meaning the board will elect a new president at its organizational meeting in July.
Winners will serve a three-year term in the unsalaried position.
This is the first time in several years that there has been a contested race for the eats.
The terms are three years long and elections for positions are staggered so there is a vote every year.
Mike Arnold, the clerk and business manager for Havre Public Schools, said it looks like there will not be a vote on the mill levy — which would raise the taxes citizens within the school district would pay — on this year’s ballot.
