Brandy Lambourne, Havre High Basketball
Consistency is a word that can best describe Havre High senior Brandy Lambourne. And in her final Central A tournament of a brilliant career, Lambourne was consistent and then some. She scored 16 points in Havre’s semifinal win over Belgrade Friday night, then added another 13 in the Blue Ponies’ championship game win against Browning Saturday night in Belgrade. Lambourne, a four-year starter for the Ponies, and a two-time All-Conference tennis player for HHS, also knocked in three 3-pointers over the weekend as she helped HHS earn its third straight Central A championship and advance to state for the third time in her career.
Kade Rismon, Havre High Basketball
Sometimes numbers don’t tell the whole story. Havre High senior Kade Rismon may have only averaged 10 points in HHS’s two Central A tournament games this past weekend in Belgrade, but all his points were big, and his experience was even bigger. Rismon helped the Ponies beat Browning Friday to earn a trip to the state tournament for the first time in eight seasons. Rismon was huge on the boards against the Indians as well, and he also scored a team-high 12 points in Havre’s championship game loss to Belgrade Saturday night. And while his stats weren’t eye-popping, his experience and leadership certainly stood out this weekend.
