It’s a big weekend for the little guys of youth hockey in Havre. The Havre Ice Dome plays host to the U10/Squirt A State Tournament.
The tourney begins tonight and runs through Sunday afternoon, and will feature six teams from Montana, including the Havre Ice Hawks. Joining Havre will be teams from Helena, Great Falls, Missoula, Billings and Bozeman.
Competing for the Ice Hawks will be Nick Baker, Theron Peterson, Kaine Black, Stephen Preputin, Meara Johnsrud, Cole St. Marks, Sophie Kirkpatrick, Jocelyn Staples, Trenton Maloughney, Colby Tilleman, Travis McLean, J.J. Triplett, Connor Moomey, Grace Ymzon and goalie Trennis Riles. The Ice Hawks are coached by Brett Patrick, Ryan Riley, Ryan McLean and Jack Maloughney.
As for the tournament, the action begins tonight at 5:30 p.m. Havre plays its first pool game at 8 a.m. Saturday against Helena. The Ice Hawks also face Great Falls at 1 p.m. Saturday. Pool play ends with cross-over games at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The consolation game is slated for 8 a.m. Sunday, followed by the third-place game at 10 a.m. and the championship game at 12:30 p.m.
All of the state tournament action takes place at the Havre Ice Dome.
