Saturday's Prep Basketball: Rocky Boy, Chinook see season's come to an end

The Rocky Boy Stars saw their winning streak come to an end against Glasgow on Friday night. But Saturday night in Glasgow, the Stars' season came to a halt when they were beaten by the Choteau Bulldogs 63-58 in the Northern B consolation game.

The Stars rallied from Friday night's semifinal loss to the Scottie by winning a thrilling 74-73 loser-out game against Conrad on Saturday morning. But in the consolation tilt, Choteau got revenge for last week's loss to the Stars in the 1B semifinals. Glasgow beat Malta in the championship game, so Choteau will get to challenge the Mustangs on Monday for the other spot in the Class B state tournament, which runs March 13-15 in Bozeman. Rocky Boy too would have been able to challenge Malta with a win over Choteau.

Meanwhile, Saturday night was the end of the line for the Chinook Sugarbeeters at the Northern C girls tournament in Great Falls. Chinook lost to Simms-Augusta 51-40 in the consolation game. Earlier in the day, the Beeters ousted 9C runner-up North Star in a loser-out contest.
