Buzz youth basketball tourney on its way

In recent years, many local boys and girls basketball teams have done quite well traveling to youth tournaments around the state. Now, a youth tournament is coming to Havre. A local group will host a youth basketball tourney for grades 5-8 in March. The girls tournament is slated for March 8 and the boys March 9. The tournament will be conducted at four locations in Havre, including Havre Central, Havre High, Havre Middle School and the Armory Gymnasium.

The Havre tournament is hoping to attract a minimum of 40 total teams, and proceeds will be going to benefit St. Jude Thaddeus School. Organizers are looking for volunteers, such as scorekeepers and clock operators. There will also be a tournament program with ad space available to local business.
