Class B-C State Wrestling: Harlem's Seth Adams claims a state title

For the second straight Class B-C state wrestling tournament, final's night proved rough on the Harlem Wildcats. But it didn't start out that was as senior Seth Adams capped off a brilliant season by winning the 220-pound state championship. The win pushed Harlem to a stellar sixth-place finish as the Wildcats scored 94 points.

Adams bested Huntley Project's Tanner Miller 10-4 in the first final of the night. It was a sweet finish for the senior, after finishing second last season. But the rest of the night didn't go Harlem's way. For the second straight year, Shay Snider and Teague Jones were beaten in the championship round. Snider lost 2-0 to Forsyth's Matt Weber at 126 pounds while Jones was upset by Plains' Russell Kujala, 7-4 in the 132-pound final. Brendan Johnson, who had an amazing state tourney also reached the 145-pound final where his run ended with 5-0 decision to two-time champion Luke Weber of Forsyth.

Still, Harlem had its highest finish in the team race in quite some time. Colstrip captured its first B-C championship, scoring 224 points. Choteau was a distant second and three-time defending champ Forsyth finished third. Huntley Project was fourth and Conrad was fifth.

Chinook's night ended in disappointment as well. The Beeters were chasing the Class C trophy by came up short, as did young Tate Niederegger, who lost to Colstrip's Gage Currier in the 120-pound championship match.

The Beeters, who got a sixth-place finish by Jesse Dannels, ended the night with 43 team points, which was second in the Class C race. The Belt Huskies scored 52 points to capture their first Class C title. Belt finished 14th in the B-C standings, while the Beeters were 18th.
