Rocky Boy basketball coach suspended

Michael Morsette, the basketball coach at Rocky Boy High School, has been suspended for undisclosed reasons.

Bobbi J. Favel, the personnel director, and Lewis Reese, the principal of Rocky Boy High School, said they were unable to speak about the matter at this time while the investigation of the situation was still being conducted.

“We are looking into circumstances to ensure that all rights are protected,” Reese said. “It’s a standard procedure thing … . We’re just following protocol.”

Morsette was suspended before the Feb. 7 Rocky Boy basketball game against Malta, which Rocky Boy won despite having only one full practice the preceding week.

Jerome Gopher has taken Morsette’s place as interim head basketball coach.
