Wayne Connell Dehlbom, 79, passed away peacefully Jan. 17, 2014. Family members circled the room in prayer as he departed.
There will be a celebration of his life at Dalton Gardens Church of Christ, 4th and Hanley, Dalton Gardens, 2 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mable Jane (Blackwood) Dehlbom of Havre, Mont., and Clarence (Kelly) Eugene Dehlbom of Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Wayne was born in 1935 and was raised on the Silver Bow Ranch between Chinook and Havre. He graduated high school in Chinook in 1953 and college at Northern Montana College in Havre in 1960. He married Mary Joy Becklen in 1960, and their first child, Kelly Lynn (Dehlbom) Martin, was born in Havre in 1961. They moved to Kellogg, Idaho, in 1962, when he got an opportunity in machine maintenance at Bunker Hill, and she taught school at Lincoln Elementary School in Kellogg. Their second child, Wayne Scott Dehlbom, was born in Kellogg in 1964. In 1972, they were divorced, and Wayne moved to Pinehurst, where he was still residing when he passed away.
During the '70s, he married Bonnie E. Jamieson, who had five children. They were divorced in 1982. Bonnie and her son, Ross preceded Wayne in death. Bonnie's surviving children, Sheryl Reagan, Paula Johnson, Brian Jamieson and Sue Jamieson, reside in the Pinehurst area.
Wayne is survived by former wife/best friend, Mary Rex of Post Falls; their children, Kelly Martin (Ron Pedro) of Pinehurst, Scott (Lynelle) Dehlbon of Hayden; sister, Reva Blackwood of New Mexico; grandchildren: Shaun Dehlbom of Spokane, Kerry (Aaron) Ayers of Soap Lake, Wash., Ed Widmer of Soap Lake, Cory (Bobby) Covey of Post Falls, Jay Widmer of Post Falls, Chris (Cassie) Dehlbom of Coeur d'Alene, and Micaela (Taylor) O'Dell of Coeur d'Alene, and five-and-a-half great-grandchildren.
