It’s been a few months, but the Montana State University-Northern women’s basketball team now has a Frontier Conference Player of the week.
Northern junior A’Jha Edwards earned the honor after she scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in MSU-N’s 71-61 win over the University of Great Falls Friday night in Havre. Edwards, a 6-5 center from Sierra Vista, Ariz., went 11-for-17 from the field and also pulled down six offensive boards. It was her eighth double-double of the season.
Rocky Mountain College’s Tyree Anderson was named Men’s Player of the Week. Anderson scored 28 points and made five 3-pointers in RMC’s 94-90 win at Westminster last Thursday night. MSU-Northern junior Corbin Pearson was also nominated for the award.
The MSU-N women are still ranked third in the new Frontier Power Rating. The Northern men are tied for fourth.
The Lights and Skylights are back in action Thursday night when the travel to Great Falls.
