Teresa Roberts of Havre has won a $100,0000 Montana Millionaire prize on a ticket she bought at the Tip It Bar — an establishment she owns.
She said she bought the ticket sometime around Nov. 29.
“I’m very excited,” Roberts said. “I’m just going to pay off some debts and maybe remodel my house a bit.”
Roberts said she plays games like this fairly often.
Of the $100,000 prize, Roberts received $68,100 after taxes were paid.
According to a press release from the Montana Lottery office, Teresa bought two Montana Millionaire tickets and when the winning numbers were announced, she was was so surprised she won that “she called Lottery headquarters three times to verify the numbers were correct before she believed it.”
Winning Montana Millionaire tickets are announced New Year’s Eve. There are 130,000 tickets available for purchase throughout the year to win six cash prizes: one $1 million, two $100,000 and three $10,000 prizes.
The $1 million and two $10,000 prizes have yet to be claimed.
These unclaimed tickets were purchased in Columbia Falls, Sidney and Bozeman, respectively.
