Saturday's Prep Basketball: Malta too much for Pony boys and girls

The new year hasn't been kind to the Havre High boys and girls basketball teams. And Saturday was especially tough at the Havre High gymnasium. The Malta M-Ettes beat the HHS girls for the second time this season, winning 53-37. The Malta boys also took down the Blue Ponies, 66-58 Saturday night.

Payton Filius scored 12 points to lead the HHS girls, who suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season. Dane Warp paced the Pony boys with 20 points. The Havre girls travel to Conrad Friday, while the boys are home to face the Cowboys. On Saturday, the HHS girls host Lewistown, while the boys are on the road to face the Eagles.
