A special, private showing of the documentary, “Six-Man: Two Teams, One Season” will be held at the Fort Benton Elementary School Auditorium this weekend.
The documentary is about an hour and a half long and follows Geraldine/Highwood and Big Sandy through their 2013 football seasons, according to producer Kurt Markus.
“It’s a look at six-man football in Montana, but I’d like to think it has a little broader view,” Marcus said.
The film will be shown three times this weekend and Monday, each time set-up for a different participant in the making of the film. Sunday will have two showings: one for people involved with the Big Sandy Pioneers 2012 season and then another for the Geraldine/Highwood Rivals.
A showing will be open to Fort Benton on Monday, but seating is very limited and Marcus was unsure of whether there would be enough seating for people if he advertised the showing.
“We’ve submitted it to some festivals coming up in the spring,” Markus said. “I’m hoping it will be really good.”
Markus has made one other movie — a documentary of one of John Mellencamp’s tours. He has also made music videos with notable artists like Jewel. He has made his mark with photography and is fairly new in the filmmaking business.
