Edna Mae Roe

Edna Mae Roe, 81, passed away from natural causes on Nov. 14, 2013, at the Care and Comfort Home. Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Schultz officiating. Memorials may be made in Edna's honor to the Care and Comfort Home, Havre Senior Center, Havre Youth Hockey or the charity of the donor's choice.

Edna was born Jan. 10, 1932, to Earl and Grace (Shern) Zimmerman in Havelock, N.D. She was raised in New Leipzig and graduated from New Leipzig High School. She married Darwyn Roe in New Leipzig in 1954. The couple had four children, and in 1962, the family moved to Havre, Mont. Throughout her life she worked at various jobs, and after the death of her husband she was a stay-at-home mom.

Edna liked gardening, playing cards, board games, traveling and going to lunch with the girls on Fridays. She loved watching her kids and later her grandkids in school and sporting events. Edna was a volunteer at the hospital in the foot clinic and at the Senior Center answering the telephone. She was an avid member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was special in many ways and will be missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darwyn; her brothers, Edwin and Glen Zimmerman; and her brother-in-law, August Eslinger.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Diane (Tim) Shidu of Auburn, Wash., and Debbie (Daryl) Schultz of Havre; her sons, Dana (Cindy) Roe and Derek Roe of Havre; her sister, Darlene (Dennis) Grimm of Hazen, N.D .; her brother, Donald (Marlyn) Zimmerman of Garrison, N.D .; her sister-in-law, Mabel Zimmerman of Omaha, Neb .; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren (with one on the way); and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
