Cooper Spicher, North Star Football
North Star senior Cooper Spicher certainly ended his football career with a bang. Though his Knights lost a close battle to Westby-Grenora in the first round of the Six-Man playoffs two weeks ago, Spicher was nothing short of spectacular. He had a hand in all eight of North Star’s TDs in the playoff loss, including runs of 59, 43, 38 and 21 yards. He also threw four TD passes and accounted for nearly 400 yards of total offense. Spicher will now take his talents to the basketball court this winter.
Dani Wagner, Havre Volleyball
The Havre Blue Ponies made a solid run at the Central A Divisional volleyball tournament, and sophomore setter Dani Wagner was a big reason why. Over the course of Havre’s four matches last weekend in Lewistown, Wagner had 69 assists and 12 aces. She also averaged six kills per match and recorded a match-high 23 digs in a Friday night win over Browning. Wagner is also the starting center fielder for the HHS softball team and a member of the Blue Pony girls basketball team.
