It was a historic night in the Armory Gymnasium, with former Frontier Conference power Montana State-Billings returning to Havre for the first time since 1996. But the Lights weren't a very welcoming host. Northern used an 18-0 run to pull away and beat the NCAA DII Yellowjackets 71-50, improving to 6-0 on the season.
Northern got a game-high 21 points from Alfie Miller, while Corbin Pearson added 18 and Will Perry scored 12. MSU-B freshman and former Malta standout Kendall Denham did see action in the contest, which was an exhibition game and the season-opener for the Jackets. Northern will play at MSU-B Nov. 22 in Billings.
