Margaret E. “Donia” Corcoran Peterson, 66, of Great Falls, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Peace Hospice due to cancer. Wake services will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013. Interment will follow in Rocky Boy Cemetery. Margaret was born on Dec. 16, 1946, in Havre to William and Lily (Whitford) Corcoran. She was raised all over Montana, attending schools in Babb, Shelby, and Helena. After high school graduation, she continued her education at Montana State University at Bozeman. She married F. Richard Croasdell, and the couple’s union was blessed with two children. They later divorced, and she married Peter “Jerry” Peterson in Great Falls in 2001. Over the years, Margaret worked as a bartender and a waitress, always providing a loving home for her children. For many years, she cared for her grandchildren so her daughter Michelle could serve with the U.S. Air Force. Margaret enjoyed Scrabble, reading, crossword puzzles, spending time with family and friends, taking pictures, genealogy, Facebook games, spending time on her computer, going to casinos, traveling, movies, Sudoku and listening to music. She was a proud member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe at Rocky Boy.
She was preceded in death by her father, William L. Corcoran; her daughter, Georgia Nyquist; her unborn grandson, William L. Anderson; and her brother, George Corcoran.
She is survived by her husband, Peter “Jerry” Peterson of Great Falls; her daughters, Lori (Mike) Osgood of Havre, and Michelle (Dwayne) Lee and Leiloni (Jason) Anderson, all of Rochester, Wash .; her sons, Junior (Lori) Peterson of Dresser, Wis., Rodney (Leslie) Peterson of Centria, Wis., Curtis Peterson of Spokane, Wash,, and Larry Peterson of Flagstaff, Ariz .; her mother, Lily Corcoran of Rocky Boy; her brothers, William Morris (Wilma) Corcoran of Rocky Boy, Joe Corcoran of Rocky Boy, Dale Corcoran of Billings, Mont., Peter (Chris) Corcoran of Helena, Mont., Frank (Nancy) Corcoran of Chambersburg, Pa., Ron (Vidella) Corcoran of Billings, Jimmy (Theresa) Corcoran of Slatington, Pa., Steve (Pam) Corcoran of Rocky Boy, and Earl (Norie) Corcoran of Harrisburg, Pa .; her 24 grandchildren; and her four great-grandchildren.
