All area gardens, bakers and crafters are extended an invitation to participate in Saturday Market at Town Square.
The market exploded last summer having on average 40 vendors each weekend, said Debbie Vandeberg, executive director of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce.
“And, it looks like the market will have another record year of vendors by the early registration,” she added. “Think about participating in the market, as you are nurturing your garden, baking special homemade treats and making wonderful crafts. Our Saturday Markets play a valuable role in promoting healthy local economics. The market provides a viable economic opportunity for local residents to market their goods and create an accessible, social atmosphere for the community.”
Saturday Market creates a great connection for the community bringing together farmers, crafters and artists, tourists and businesses. Vendors are welcome to set up every Saturday starting July 6 and running through Sept. 21. The market runs from 8 a.m. to noon at Town Square.
Those thinking about participating in the market need to contact the Chamber before the weekend market to get their assigned location at the market.
Each market vendor has to bring what they need to conduct business, such as a canopy, a table or chairs. No power is provided. The fee to set up at Saturday Market for the run of the market July 6 to Sept. 21, is $60, with an additional fee for oversized truck vendors, or $10 for one-time attendees.
“Community markets like Havre’s Saturday Market highlight what is unique about our community and the area while providing an atmosphere that celebrates locally produced goods. The ability to highlight the flavor and character of our community is one of the great pluses of our farmer’s markets,” added Vandeberg.
The market place provides community social benefits as well. It is a gathering place for all ages to mingle, for neighbors to get to know one another and for vendors and customers to network, and a setting for education.
Mark your calendars now for this year’s Saturday Market — which starts July 6 at Town Square.
