A Havre man will spend more than five years in federal prison for selling methamphetamine in north-central Montana.
Franklin Troy Caplette, 28, previously pleaded guilty to the charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Monday in federal court in Great Falls, Judge Dana L. Christensen sentenced Caplette to 62 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office reported in a press release issued Tuesday afternoon.
Havre police began their investigation of Caplette, who was suspected to be a supplier of meth in Havre and on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, in 2010.
According to the press release, several people were prepared to testify that they had purchased meth from Caplette several times from 2010 through 2012.
