Our View: Hi-Line pulls together to help flood victims

Spring floods have once again soaked the Hi-Line, drenching Beaver Creek Park, causing damage at Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation and wreaking havoc from Rudyard to Big Sandy and Hays to Dodson.

No injuries have been reported, and damage was less than could be expected because emergency responders have done a great job of keeping things under control.

Because of fires and floods in recent years, people who respond to emergencies have been overworked along the Hi-Line.

For whatever reason, weather has played tricks on the Hi-Line, and emergency preparedness personnel in area counties and area reservations have responded admirably.

At Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, departments worked together and mobilized volunteers to divert water from people’s homes.

To all those state county and tribal employees, and especially to the many volunteers who have helped out friends and neighbors, we offer our thanks.
