Geraldine Patricia (Sticka) Robinson

“Pat” Robinson was born Geraldine Patricia Sticka in Havre, Mont., on April 10, 1925. Pat grew up on a ranch 20 miles out of Havre. She attended a one-room country grade school which had 10 or 12 students in all eight grades. She also attended the Catholic school in Havre for two years, as well as Havre High School.

Pat met her husband, Truman Willis “Bill” Robinson, on just her second night in California. The two were married in San Juan Capistrano on Aug. 3, 1946. They honeymooned in the small village of Ensenada, Mexico. Pat worked in the banking business. Pat and Bill were blessed with two sons, Tom and Randy, and one daughter, Carol. Pat had five grandchildren who called her Grandma.

Pat and Bill enjoyed vacations to many states and Mexico in their RV. Many times they spent the summer months at Flathead Lake. They both enjoyed fishing and camping. The family would often join them on these trips. Pat lived in many places while in California, including Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Torrance and Bear Valley Springs. Her favorite place was Bear Valley Springs because it was in the mountains. Bear Valley Springs had four distinct seasons which she also enjoyed. It would snow and become beautiful and white, and then in a couple of days the snow would be gone! She loved the California beaches, but they became so crowded she was happy to move to the mountains … once a Montana girl, always a Montana girl!

Another of Pat’s hobbies, besides traveling, was photography. She and Bill were fortunate enough to take several ocean cruises and also travel to several foreign countries. Pat was once on the television show “The Price is Right” when Bob Barker was still the host … she even won several prizes. She also rode a float in a New Orleans Mardi Gras parade, handing out beads and toys. She said both events were great fun.

Pat moved to a cottage at Hunter’s Pointe of Helena, Mont., in October 2004 to be near her sisters. She moved to Three Forks in 2009 to be closer to her daughter, Carol.

Pat lost Bill, her husband of 56 years, in 2002. Pat is survived by her daughter Carol (Wes) Crittenden of Willow Creek, Mont .; son, Thomas (Cheryl) Robinson of Mandeville, La .; son Randall Robinson; grandchildren, Chrysti Crittenden of Hesperus, Colo., Wendy Crittenden of San Francisco, Calif., Lisa (Veltre) Robinson Potter of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew Robinson of Torrance, Calif., Rachel Robinson of Baton Rouge, La .; niece, Linda (Pat) Bauer of Three Forks, Mont .; and Pat’s beautiful sisters, Jean Fox of East Helena, Mont. and Joanne Lamey of Shelby, Mont. She had many more nieces and nephews all over the United States.
