Evelyn Viola (Anderson) Bond, 90, passed away on Feb. 2, 2013, of natural causes in Malta.
Cremation has taken place and Kirkwood Funeral Home in Malta is in charge of arrangements. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.
A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Havre at 11 a.m. on May 18, 2013. Burial will be at Little Big Horn Battlefield National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest by her husband.
Evelyn was born April 30, 1922, in Culbertson. She grew up on the family farm in eastern Montana and received her early education there. She attended cosmetology college in Great Falls and worked in beauty shops in Sidney. She later returned to Great Falls and attended Great Falls Business College after which she kept books for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Great Falls.
After her marriage to Robert Bond of Belt, they moved to a wheat farm north of Havre. Mr. Bond died in 1964 and she and her two children moved to Havre, where she worked at various jobs. She returned to a favorite part-time job at the Silver Thimble. She loved to sew.
She loved camping with her children, and they spent many summers traveling with a camp trailer. She was an avid oil and water color painter.
Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Christy Bond of Havre, and a son, David (Lorie) Bond of rural Malta. She is survived by two granddaughters, Thoneta and Kaycee Bond; sister, Alice Anderson of Havre; and two nieces, Cheryl Unruh and Shirley Kelly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; a grandson, Rob Long; and aunts and uncles.
