Local Bowling Report: Near Miss: Williams rolls a stellar 299

After one weekend of play in the No-Tap Tournament the top four places are as follows: 1st Denise Friede and Roman Surber 1,669; 2nd place Michelle and Doug Denny 1,603; 3rd place Laine Fitzpatrick and Roman Surber; 4th place Donna Tilleman and Riley LaBuda. The tournament resumes this coming weekend at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Highlight of the week was a near miss by Fred Williams rolling a 299 game on Wednesday night Men's League and ending with a 741 series.

It was reported that the No-Tap Tournament in Big Sandy saw Laci LaBuda and Josh Danreuther taking first with a score of 1,796, followed by Tim and Laci LaBuda with a 1,680.

Down in Fort Benton, we saw Jason and Sharon McDonald and Robert and Julie Sparks test their skills. It was reported Sharon and Robert were in first with Sharon being on fire shooting a 799 scratch series and with her handicap way over a 900 series. Way to go Sharon.

On a different note, I received a note from my daughter, Jamie, who lives in Knoxville, Tenn., about a girl who rolled back-to-back 300 games on Feb. 5 ending with a 805 series. She is a facilite at the University of Tenn., College of Vetinary small animal's clinic at Oak Ridge Bowling Centers, averaging 220 in the league she bowled that series in.
