Hi-Line Darts and Laurels

Laurel — Havre High School Activities Director Dennis Murphy has been lauded by the Montana High School Association for his work. He was named the Class A Athletic Director of the Year. Murphy has done a lot of good work providing students with extra activities that provide them with experiences they will remember for the rest of their lives. Congrats on the award.

Laurel — Members of Recycle Hi-Line have kept thousands of pounds of recyclable materials out of the landfill and have taught many people in the area the value of recycling materials. They provide a monthly recycling drive. Their work benefits all of Hill County.

Laurel — State Rep. Wendy Warburton is planning legislation to name a Blaine County highway after the late Blaine County Undersheriff Pat Pyette and Deputy Josh Rutherford. It is tragic that Blaine County lost two such outstanding law enforcement officials in a relatively short period of time to work-related incidents. People in this generation know the sacrifice Pyette and Rutherford made for the public safety. By memorializing them as Warburton suggest, future generations will also learn of their heroism.

Laurel — Gary & Leo's Fresh Foods' food drive donated $2,500 worth of food to the Salvation Army and the Havre Food Bank. The community-minded company contributes lots of different community activities throughout the year. Nothing is more important than n the food bank and the Salvation Army, which provide invaluable services to organizations that would not get them otherwise.
