Alan Berquist
Alan Berquist was ushered into Glory on April 18, 2013. He valiantly fought a heart infection for six months, and in the end he did win. He is wrapped in the arms of Jesus, fully alive in a brand new, perfect body.
Above all, Alan was an encourager. He encouraged his family, friends, and people on the street. He had a gift for making everyone feel significant. It didn't matter who they were. Family was always first for him, and he spread that love through four generations. Alan had several occupations during his life; he worked at Armours, owned and operated a cattle feeding operation, was a district manager for the Equitable and worked for the Better Business Bureau.
He married his high school sweetheart, Dianne Berg, on June 10, 1960. They had three children, Cindy, Brett, and Robin. They have lived in Havre, Mont., since 2005.
Alan was reunited in Heaven with his dad, Delbert Berquist; and son-in-law, Kevin Keim. Family coming together to celebrate his life include his mother, Marjory Berquist of South Dakota; wife, Dianne; sister, Mardel (David) Peach of Washington; brother, Mark (Becky) Berquist of South Dakota; his children, Cindy Keim, Brett Berquist of Michigan, and Robin (Joe) Allegro of California.
He loved being Grampa to his 15 grandchildren and adopted Grampa to anyone who needed one. He was also officially recognized for his grandfatherly greatness by the arrival of his first great-grandchild in June of last year.
Celebration of his life will be Wednesday, April 24, at 2 p.m. at Fifth Avenue Christian Church in Havre, with Chad Leathermon presiding.
Memorials may be made to Peach Family Ministries, Faith Center, 10702 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98662 or to Benefis Health System Foundation, Gift of Life, P.O. Box 7008, Great Falls, MT 59406-7008.
