Northern C Update: Box Elder boys moving on

Updated at 7:42 p.m: The box Elder boys basketball advanced to the semifinals of the Northern C tournament with a 68-61 win over Simms Thursday night in Great Falls. The Bears got a game-high 21 points from Randall Gardipee and will play Roy-Winifred Friday night for a berth in the Northern C championship.

The Big Sandy Pioneers suffered a bitter 63-61 loss to the Dutton-Brady Diamondbacks in the opening game of the 2013 Northern C Tournament Thursday afternoon in Great Falls. The D-Backs scored with :12 left to take the lead and the Pioneers couldn't answer. Big Sandy will face Denton in a loser-out game at 8 a.m. Friday morning.
