It's that time of year again. North Central Montana Relay For Life will be holding its Third Annual Paint the Park Purple event at Town Square Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m, to 3 p.m. We will have team registration, survivor registration, luminary sales, team fundraisers and much more taking place on this day. Businesses, if you would like, please decorate your store fronts and windows with purple to show our community how much you support the fight against cancer.
The North Central Montana Relay for Life event has raised more than $50,000 each year that goes to help nationwide with the fight against cancer.
The money raised during our event each year comes back to Hill County funding five programs in our area. Look Good Feel Better, where trained volunteer cosmetologists teach women how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using cosmetics and skin care products and Road to Recovery, which provides rides to patients who have no way to get to their cancer treatment. These are just two of the programs our fundraising supports.
Our committee and teams would like to take this time to thank the businesses and community for their continued support. As a reminder to the residents surrounding the Havre High School practice track, we do have music and speaking going on starting Friday, July 12, and continuing throughout the evening until Saturday morning, as we are a 12-hour, all-night event. We would like to invite the community to come and join us for our Survivor Celebration BBQ starting at 5 p.m. and stay throughout the night. The cost for the barbecue is $5 per person. Everyone is welcome to join in on games, celebrating survivors and remembering those we have lost to cancer.
