Ivan Radim Jezek
Ivan Radim Jezek, 76, of Havre, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at his residence due to an accident. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services were 2 p. m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. The family has requested that memorials be made in Ivan's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Ivan was born on Sept. 23, 1936, in Ostrava, Czech Republic, to Karel and Emilie (Michl) Jezek. He was raised in the Czech Republic, where he grew up with a close group of friends, then travel to Austria for work, before moving to the United States in 1969. While in the U. S., he lived in New York, New Jersey, Nevada and California before settling down in Bellevue, Wash. There he worked as a principal engineer for Boeing.
While in Bellevue, he married Margo Lund. They later divorced, and he moved to Havre in 1998, where he finished raising their three remaining children alone, doting on them.
Ivan was a strong-minded, brilliant man who is remembered by his children as being fun and exciting. He was a very meticulous man, who was devoted to his kids, fighting for them in a drawn-out custody battle. He enjoyed working, traveling the world and taking trips with his children. He instilled in them the importance of being happy, no matter where or how.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Barbara Elisova of Ostrava, Czech Republic, Haidee Jezek of Paso Robles, Calif., Jennifer Jezek of Havre, Mont., Jessica Jezek of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Justin Jezek of Havre; and his granddaughter, Emily Jezek of Havre.
