Dianna Lynn Huestis

Dianna Lynn Huestis, 65, of Havre, passed away on Feb. 3, 2013, at Northern Montana Care Center due to cancer.

Memorial service will be 2 p. m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at New Beginnings Lutheran Church in Rudyard, Mont., with Will Anderson officiating. Scattering of ashes will take place at a later date. The family has requested that memorials be made to Kitty Keepers in Havre. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dianna was born Feb. 7, 1947, in Havre, Mont., to LeRoy and Betty (Plummer) Huestis. She was raised on the family farm north of Gildford and graduated as valedictorian from Gildford High School in 1965.

Dianna served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines in the early '70s, where her Montana farm background enabled her to teach others about raising hogs. She enjoyed her cats, taking care of homeless cats, reading and playing cards.

Dianna graduated from Montana State University with an associate degree in Ag Business. She continued her studies at Northern Montana College in Havre. She went to work for NMC in the food service program.

She married Robert Montalbetti in Havre and together they raised Robert and Avis. Dianna retired from MSU-N food service in 2008 after working there for 30-plus years.

Dianna was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Ronald Huestis.

She is survived by her daughter, Avis Montalbetti of Eugene, Ore. ; son, Robert (Tracymae) Montalbetti of Havre; sisters, Bonnie Huestis, Peggy Huestis, and Debbie Anderson all of Ulm, Mont., Mary Hutchinson of Hingham, Mont., and Cindy Keaster of Belt, Mont. ; and granddaughter, Samantha Montalbetti of Havre.
