JOE BOWLER resides in Havre, at least for another year. Michael Mariani Jr. is the name on the birth certificate, but he is known to the rest of the world as "Minnow". Minnow was the lucky person at the opening ceremony of the U.S.B.C. Tournament in Reno, Nev. His name was drawn at random to throw out the first ball attired in a long Red Cape and Crown. The result was a 7-pin count. For his accomplishment, Minnow will receive his plane tickets paid for next year's tournament.
There is still time to sign up for the Baseball Fundraiser to be held this Saturday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with chili in a bag and silent auction starting with Jackpot at 6:30. The cost is $20 per person with a portion going to Havre Youth Baseball. Call 265-5885 to reserve a lane.
