Selma Marie Shelstad

Selma Marie Shelstad (Borlaug) died peacefully on Jan. 17, 2013.

She was born in Gildford, Mont., and owned a gas station in Box Elder with her husband before moving to Cottage Grove, Minn. She was preceded in death by husband Elden "Ole" Shelstad; daughter, Debbie Shelstad; and parents, George and Clara Borlaug.

She is survived by children, David from Oakdale, Minn., Doug from Cottage Grove, Minn., and Darcy Shelstad from St. Paul, Minn. ; brothers, Carol "Bud" (Mary Jane) Borlaug from Havre, Martin Borlaug of Buffalo, Wyo., and sister, Sonya (Lloyd) VandeSandt from Gildford.
