Politicians have been bought: Express your outrage Nov. 6

Editor:

During the last legislative session identical bills authored by the American Legislative Exchange Council — a group supported by oil billionaire Koch brothers and other corporate interests — in 41 states pushed to make it more difficult for people to vote. (Go to http://www.ALECexposed.com to check on local legislators.) The bills passed in 17 states.

The stated purpose was to prevent voter fraud. There was no fraud. The bills targeted the elderly, the poor and college students. As was stated by a Republican legislator in Pennsylvania the purpose was a Republican victory. Where is the outrage.

How about the obscene amounts of secret money being spent by Karl Rove's super PACs and others to influence our Montana election and overturn our century-old campaign finance law? Sheldon Adelson the billionaire gambling mogul has said he is willing to spend $100 million on the presidential election while he is being investigated for bribing a Chinese government official. Is he trying to buy the next attorney general? Where is the outrage.

Rupert Murdock, the owner of FOX, was confronted on national television about the constant lies in their news casts. I heard him say, "Truth doesn't matter. Ratings matter." Where is the outrage?

Wake up America. You are being duped and sold. I grew up in an evangelical family that had been Republican for generations. This is not the party of Honest Abe that was concerned for the rights of everyone. Express your outrage Nov. 6.
