A 20-year-old Browning man is dead, and his same-aged passenger from Polson is in Northern Montana Hospital this morning, after a crash about halfway between Havre and Chinook early Sunday morning.
Kristopher Stanley Goss was driving his 2007 Dodge Caliber westbound on U. S. Highway 2 with Ryan Michael O'Donnell.
Around 5:48 a. m., according to the Montana Highway Patrol's report, Goss "was reaching for something, " and the vehicle veered to the right.
The driver then overcorrected, lost control and rolled the vehicle multiple times into the ditch on the south side of the road.
The vehicle came to a stop on the driver's side. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
O'Donnell climbed out of the car's sunroof to wave down other moterists for help.
He was still in the Havre hospital this morning, in stable condition.
