Since there are a lot of letters appearing about how wonderful "Obamacare is working," I thought I would put out some facts I am living with.
First off, the Obamacare benefits haven't kicked in yet, so I have trouble understanding how it is helping people.
What has kicked in is the collecting on money to pay for the massive expense that is coming to us in 2014. The insurance companies have started getting ready for taking on pre-existing conditions by raising the cost to the customers they already have.
My wife has been dealing with a persistent cancer since 2006. Every year in July, August and September I have had to pay out $840 each month to cover our deductibles.
Now this year, in preparation, I had to pay our $2,000 per month to meet these same deductibles.
I'm trying to live on my income rather than taking funds out of my retirement accounts. So for those months there were items I would have purchased, but I didn't because I was paying it out to the hospitals.
Now we are finishing up the final treatments and we have to drive to Great Falls every day, five days a week for eight weeks, and every day we fill up my "Government Motors" car it costs more each day: The Tester-Obama energy policy just isn't working for the American people. How can we expect them to successfully run our medical care?
When I get the mail there is a card from Sen. Tester telling me how hard he is working to save Medicare.
Well, Mr. Tester, if you and President Obama hadn't voted to take $529 billion out of Medicare, you wouldn't have to work so hard.
This is just the beginning. I seriously doubt I will be able to afford "free medical care."
