Anyone who knows me knows that I can only keep my mouth shut for so long. So here we go.
When I first started reading about wolf (and beaver) trapping in the paper recently, I just could not believe what I was reading.
At first I thought "Oh, they must be talking about live trapping and moving the intended target animal to a different location." Surely they are not talking about the ancient barbaric trapping of the past where the animal is caught by its leg and fearfully tries to escape while being in excruciating pain and then starves or bleeds to death, not to mention suffers profusely for hours before dying. Surely they are not doing that.
However, when I read the latest article, it became perfectly clear that really is exactly what they are doing. I have no idea where I have been, but I cannot believe that in this day and age we would still even remotely consider this kind of torture to an animal ... any animal — let alone give people/kids classes on how to do it.
WTH! Really? Are the people, who think this is OK, serious?
This ignoramus act should have been outlawed centuries ago. In fact, it should have been outlawed the very same day the idiot who came up with the idea built that first trap.
This is absolutely an inconceivable appalling act done by people who really should have enough brains to understand by now that this is just not right. This is actually downright embarrassing to me that the state I love allows this to happen ... and has classes on it.
Trapping should be something we push way back into our ancestry books and hide it as best we can in hopes that the generations of the future will not find out how uncivilized, uncaring and stupid we really are.
Absolutely disgusting in my book! Want me to tell you how I really feel?
