Mary M. White

Mary M. White, 75, of Hingham, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Benefis Medical Center in Great Falls due to complications from an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at the Hingham Lutheran Church, with Pastor Larry Hornik officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Havre at 3 p. m. that day. The family has requested that memorials be made in Mary's name to the Hingham Park Fund, Hingham, MT 59528. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Mary was born on July 20, 1937, in Havre, to William and Mary (Gray) Brown. She grew up and attended school in Columbus and Havre. On Jan. 18, 1957, she married James D. White in Cut Bank. The couple made their home in Hingham, and their union was blessed with three children. Mary was very active in the Hingham Lutheran Church, serving on the church board, active in the Church Circle and teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting and sewing. Mary taught crafts in the Hingham school when her children were younger, and gave sewing lessons at home. She loved her family, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. She was very generous with her time, whether dog-sitting or grandma-sitting, and she absolutely loved buying meaningful gifts for her family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Billy Brown, Helen Field, Dorothy Yates and Donald Brown.

She is survived by her husband, James D. White of Havre; her son, Steven (LaNay) White of Hingham; her daughters, Lauri (Charles) Chvilicek of Hingham and Daina Mereness of Edmonds, Wash; her grandchildren, Alex, Adam and Cade Chvilicek and Wendy and James White, all of Hingham, Aidan Mereness of Edmonds, Wash., Thad (Robyn) Burkhartsmeyer of Hingham, and Trevin (Tiaya) Burkhartsmeyer and Shilo (Matthew) Johnson, all of Helena; her great-grandchildren, Christopher and Brooke Burkhartsmeyer of Hingham, and Caycen and Cidney Burkhartsmeyer and Braden Johnson, all of Helena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
