Members of the MSU-Northern volleyball team celebrate a kill during Thursday night's Frontier Conference match against Montana Tech at the Armory Gymnasium.
The MSU-Northern volleyball team is steam-rolling opponents on the newly renovated Armory Gymnasium floor. On Thursday night, the Skylights dismantled Montana Tech in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-21 to improve to a perfect 4-0 at home and 5-1 in the Frontier Conference.
Northern really dominated the first set, but had tro rally from behind in the second and third sets to earn the sweep over the scrappy Orediggers. Hillary Isleifson led the way with 14 kills, while Kelsey Williams added 10 kills and 10 digs. Joni Nagy had two solo blocks and Holly Cartwright had 22 digs. Big Sandy's Shersteen Cline had eight digs for the Orediggers.
With the win, Northern is 11-9 overall heading into Friday night's hude showdown with Lewis-Clark State. That match starts at 7 p.m. at the Armory.
