KALISPELL — Gary Dale Kropp, 73, died of natural causes Monday, Jan. 23, in Kalispell.
A celebration of life service is 2 p. m. Friday, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Gary was born Jan. 24, 1938, in Great Falls, the son of Fred and Genevieve (Oriet) Kropp. Gary attended schools in Great Falls, where he was raised and graduated from Great Falls High School. Gary worked road construction before starting to work as a conductor for the Great Northern Railroad, which became Burlington Northern Railroad, until his retirement in January 2000.
Gary married Barb Teichrow on Nov. 1, 1974, in Sidney, Mont. They were married for 37 years. Gary was an elder, Bible Study Fellowship member and volunteer at Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered with the Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending winters in Yuma, Ariz. He dearly loved his granddaughters and enjoyed spending time with them.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Genevieve Kropp; brother, Clarence Kropp; and a granddaughter, Shaina Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Barb of Kalispell; daughters, Vicki (Daryl) Ness and Linda (Gary) Evans; four grandchildren, Jennifer Ness of Vancouver, Wash., Jacqueline Ness (Francisco Monreal) of Vancouver, Nikki Evans of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kallie Evans of Kalispell; one great-grandchild, Lindsey Monreal; nephews Jim (Gina) Kropp and Steve (Sue) Kropp; and sister-in-law Donna Kropp.
