Local Bowling Report: Holden's tourney on tap at Hi-Line Lanes

Holden's Hotwheels Scotch Doubles Tournament is on tap for this Saturday and Sunday. Shift times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on both days. Bowlers wanting to bowl in this tournament are asked to please sign up in advance. There are sign-up sheets at the counter.

Anyone who would like to bowl in this may do so as membership in the U.S.B.C. is not required for adults. This is a real challenge for adults as bowlers throw alternating balls, sometimes spares are a real test.

TOURNEY TRAIL: THE 23rd ANNUAL BUDWEISER HANDICAP TOURNAMENT at SNOWY LANES IN LEWISTOWN IS JAN. 21-FEB. 19. Phone 1-877-538-3473 for reservations.

P.B.A. WORLD SERIES OF BOWLING: Ildemare Ruiz from Argentina 246 and Stuart Williams from England 184.

TIP OF THE WEEK: I received some literature on ball cleaning. It is recommended that rubbing alcohol shouldn't be used, especially on the newer equipment, as it is not strong enough to penetrate the ball to get the oil and dirt out of the ball. There are several good ones out there.

Last week someone asked me if I had any New Year's resolutions. I'm not into them too much but I will share anyway: 1. I will try to buy my lottery tickets at a luckier store; 2. I will use the bristle end of my toothbrush; 3. Hope to wear matching socks.

SUNDAY KEGLERS: Did not bowl because there was a power outage.
