Robert Clifford Dolan
Robert Clifford Dolan, 83, a retired Great Northern and later Burlington Northern railroad conductor with 39 years of service, passed away from complications of cancer, Sept. 21, 2012, at his home, peacefully in his own bed.
He was born to his parents, Clifford and Anna Kuhr Dolan, Jan. 25, 1929, in Chinook, Mont. He was educated in Hays, Chinook and Havre, Mont. He served in the Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged, he worked for the Great Northern Railroad as a pipefitter and later as a conductor until retirement.
Robert was a loving family man. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and repairing things. It seemed he could fix anything. If anything broke, we'd have to run it by him to be sure that it was really broken or unsalvageable. He was an avid reader, always with a book, magazine or a newspaper in his hands. He was also a member of many clubs and organizations including, the Shriners, Masons, Eagles, Elks, Moose and UTU.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years of marriage, Maureen Dolan; son, Mike (Cody) and granddaughter, Kameron, of Billings and son, Wade of Scottsdale, Ariz. ; two sisters, Beverly (Fred) Benson of Laramie, Wyo., and Delores (Dick) Allison, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and nieces and nephews.
