Hi, my name is Corey Lloyd. My parents are Nicole and Terry Knowlton. I am the senior patrol leader for Boy Scout Troop 1438 here in Havre.
I have been in Scouting for seven years, starting as a Cub Scout. I am working toward the rank of Eagle Scout and am starting my Eagle project.
For those who are not familiar with the Eagle Scout rank, an Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America.
Requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges and demonstrating Scout Spirit through the Boy Scout oath and law, service and leadership.
This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads and manages.
My service project is reclaiming a campground, now named Hidden Hollows in Beaver Creek Park, about one mile south of Lions Campground on the west side of the road.
This campground has the potential for seven camp sites that I plan to designate with fire pits, picnic tables and shelters with tin roofs and concrete pads. I will also be fixing the existing outhouse unless funding allows for a new one. My estimated costs for this project are $8,000, plus or minus. I will be fundraising to cover these costs.
I am kicking off my fundraisers on Dec. 1 and 2 at Holiday Village Mall. I will have a table set up to sell survival bracelets and dedication plaques. Please stop by to see my project details.
Thank you for supporting Boy Scouts and me.
