Mildred Wymore

Mildred Marie (Tulip) Wymore, 94, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012. Mildred was born in Plum City, Wis., on Aug. 14, 1917, the third child of Royal and Ruth (Suter) Tulip. The family moved from Wisconsin to Seattle, Wash., in the 1920s, and a fourth child joined the family.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1935. After high school she worked as an usherette, a telephone operator and a retail clerk. While working in retail in the early 1940s, she met Joe Wymore. They were married on April 8, 1944, in Seattle. There were several moves around the region related to Joe's business career, and during this time two daughters were born. In the early 1950s, a business opportunity in Montana became available and the Wymores moved, and a son was added to the family. Mildred and Joe returned to Washington in 1972.

Throughout her life, Mildred was active in the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and was a founding and past guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel 15 in Havre. She enjoyed being a member of the Longbeach Peninsula Garden Club.

Mildred was preceded in death by husband, Joe; her parents; and her three brothers.

She is survived by her children, Janine (Nick) Nielson of Yakima, Wash., Susan Brignone of Bigfork, Mont., and Charlie (Valerie) Wymore of Paradise, Texas; five granddaughters; one grandson; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial will be held in the future.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred's honor can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospitals or a charity of one's choice.
